South Africa’s most on-time airline for domestic travel

Whether you’re a frequent business traveler or simply splurging on that weekend getaway, its good to know which airlines have a strong habit of running on time.

The on-time performance (OTP) is a comparison of the total amount of time a flight takes pushing back from the departure gate (“off block time”) against the scheduled time for departure.

An average percentage is then calculated per airport along with a 15 minute deviation of the scheduled departure. This avoids negative results caused by air traffic congestion, being an unfair disadvantage considering this is out of the airlines control.

This performance metric is recognized as a global standard, measuring an airlines adherence to their promised schedules and ultimately ranking them by operational efficiency, reliability and punctuality.

To avoid costly delays and to get more bang for your buck, we’ve done our research to find the Top 3 on-time South African for a few major airports
